The School Day
To allow safe arrival and collection of children to and from both sites, the school hours are staggered. This enables parents time to move between the sites at the beginning and end of the school day.

*Children must be lined up ready to be taken into class by their classteachers.
Reception children do not have a set breaktime in the mornings and afternoons as they are able to free-flow inside and outside the provision.
We expect all children on the Village Road site to be collected directly from school either by parents, or a named responsible adult. Of course there are exceptional circumstances which occur from time to time. As long as staff are informed as to the changes, in writing please as verbal messages tend to be open to misinterpretation, we can generally accommodate them.
Grange Lane site (Y2,Y3,Y4,Y5&Y6)
Morning
The school day at Grange Lane starts at 8:30am for the Year 5 and 6 children and at 8:40am for children from Year 2 - Year 4. All children stand in their class lines and their class teachers come out onto the playground to collect them for the start of the day.
As much as we appreciate the enthusiasm of our pupils, first thing in the morning is a very important time for the staff when they consult with colleagues and complete preparation for the day ahead and we are unable to open our doors before this time. Safety is an important consideration as staff are not necessarily in their own rooms and available to supervise children before the stated times.

Afternoon
Children in Year 2 have an afternoon break at 2:00pm where they can have a healthy snack brought in from home. Children in other year groups will take part in a daily mile run around the playground and then return to their afternoon lessons.
The school day for all children at the Grange Lane site ends at 3:20pm.
Late arrival
If children arrive in school late, after registration, they are asked to report to the school reception. We would appreciate parents letting us know in advance if they need to take children out of school early. We need to have a written note from parents if children are to go home with a friend after school.
It is a policy of the school that parents of children who walk to school unaccompanied must telephone the school before registration if their child will be absent that day.
Our attendance is monitored closely and where there are regular late attendances, a letter from the headteacher will be sent home.
