Mrs Virginia Gilks
Head Teacher

I began my teaching career in a large Primary School in Southend, Essex, and after that spent several years teaching in Infant schools in Chelmsford and Huntingdon. From there I moved to Brington, a one form entry primary school in Cambridgeshire. Whilst teaching there I became Key Stage 1 Leader, and a Leading Teacher for Maths supporting the implementation of the Numeracy Strategy across schools in Cambridgeshire. In 2003 I became Head Teacher of a small lower school in North Bedfordshire, and from there took on the headship of Bromham in 2008. I am currently also a Local Leader of Education, and a member of the Diocesan Board of Education.

Mrs Amy Perrett
Assistant Head Teacher

I completed my PGCE at Brunel following my BA in English Literature at UCL. I then taught in an outstanding church Primary School in Clapham, London. In 2008 I moved to Bedford and I’ve enjoyed getting to know the dedicated staff, governors, families and, most importantly, our amazing pupils.

After completing a degree in History, I achieved my PGCE at Leeds Metropolitan University. I joined Bromham Primary in September 2015, as SENDCO (Special Educational Needs & Disabilities Coordinator). I really enjoy all the different aspects of my role and am fortunate to be part of a fantastic team.

After completing a PGCE at St Mary’s Teacher Training College I taught in a large Primary school in Hounslow. In 2012 I moved to Bedfordshire to be closer to family and joined Bromham as Assistant Head. I enjoy being part of a great team and love the fact that every day in school is different.

I started my career as a pupil at Bromham Lower and it inspired me to train as a teacher. I graduated with First Class honours in Primary Education. I have taught at a wide range of Primary Schools including a job in Singapore. I love working alongside a dedicated team and being surrounded by amazing children.

Graduating from the Roehampton Institute of Education in London, I began my teaching career with Reception in a small Infant school. I joined Bromham in 1998 and have taught in both KS1 & KS2 but have found there is nothing more exciting than starting children off on their learning journey in Early Years.

Having graduated from Homerton College, Cambridge. I taught in Kempston, before a career break to raise my family. I have been both a teacher and parent at Bromham. It's great to be part of a friendly team who are committed to ensuring that all our pupils are inspired towards achieving their full potential.

Having completed my Psychology degree at Reading and PGCE at Leicester University, I started my career teaching both abroad and in many different schools in Bedford. I moved to Bromham in 2000 and have thoroughly enjoyed teaching across all Year groups and working alongside many different colleagues.
